The Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology’s Nano-Bio Kits are educational tools to help teachers introduce applications of bioengineering and nanotechnology to their students through interactive sessions using laboratory equipment commonly available in schools. Targeted at 15 to 19 year olds, the Nano-Bio Kits will demonstrate the latest advances in scientific research, particularly in the areas of nanobiotechnology, medical devices and drug delivery.

Each Kit contains materials for teachers and students to conduct a series of experiments that illustrate various scientific concepts and techniques used in modern research. Background material and lesson plans are provided to help teachers incorporate the use of Nano-Bio Kits in their laboratory lessons.

IBN’s Nano-Bio Kits have drawn international attention for their scientific educational use and design. The Nano-Bio Kits have been exhibited in the Japanese National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) and have also been selected for an exhibition that explores the relation between science, innovation and design in New York’s The Museum of Modern Art (February 24 to May 12, 2008).
